Eldorado Canyon & Techatticup Goldmine

We visited here several years ago and it was one fo the best things we did while in Vegas. Highly recommend. The host was really knowledgable and shared many stories with us. Showed us a pickled alien and then took us underground. Make sure you have good walking shoes to go down into the mine. Also, if you're a photographer, there are lots of things to capture in this area.
Stumbled into this tiny little area down a dead end road, but it is so worth it. The Teachatticup Mine is one of a kind, it’s owned by a family and you’ll likely chat with some of them when you stop. It’s a quirky place, full of old memorabilia, items, unique one-of-a-kind cars, and it feels like it’s straight of out of a Mad Max movie. If you stay for 15 minutes or less, it’s free, or they charge several dollars if you want to linger around and take more photos. It’s worth paying the few dollars and walking around to get all those photos we want for social media. They also do mine tours, which we haven’t done yet, but we look forward to coming back and checking it out. If you’re getting married, they also have a chapel on site! This is one place to see if you’re traveling to Vegas.
This was a top 10 tour I’ve ever been on! I’ve travelled world wide and have done many tours. It is run by the couple who bought the land with the abandoned mines. They renovated it authentically, researched the stories of the miners and owners and put it all together to share with the public. The husband has made some Mad Max style vehicles and they both are obvious hoarders with the most amazing things in the multiple buildings on the property.
Wow. What an amazing tour of history with authentic Props, and great storytelling by Bruce. A tour lasts about 1 hour , and the artifacts that the owners have accumulated are astounding. You get a real feel for how oppressive a miner’s working conditions were back in 1800’s. I love visiting this historic site and feel it is so awesome it should be added to the national registry. If your really good, the owner will show you his collection of rattlesnakes in the freezer!
