ABOUT THE OFFER

Get married at Red Rock Canyon

Wedding ceremony against a red sandstone backdrop, just over 30 minutes from the Strip – at one of five sites approved for weddings by the conservation authority.

Permitted locations are the overlook on State Route 159, Red Springs Boardwalk, South Oak Creek, Moenkopi and the visitor center amphitheater – a maximum of 50 people, and no location is reserved exclusively for you. The special permit from the federal agency BLM must be requested at least 14 days in advance, and entry to the Scenic Drive costs $20 per car. Rice, birdseed, butterflies, balloons and decorative arches are not allowed there. Wedding companies with their own standing permit handle the application and insurance, so you do not need to fill out any forms yourself.

Tips for Your Wedding

  • For a legally binding wedding, you’ll need a marriage license from the Clark County Marriage License Bureau beforehand – both partners must appear in person with ID.
  • A marriage performed in Las Vegas must subsequently be recognized or registered with the civil registry office in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland; apply for an apostille in good time.
  • Get written confirmation of the package, guest count, photography and music in advance; extras are often charged separately.
  • Inquire early about popular dates like Valentine’s Day, New Year’s Eve or dates with repeating numbers.

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, National reserve, Mountain Springs. Four stars, a week ago, 26 views. Great desert escape just west of Las Vegas, and worth the short drive. We were on a bike trip from California to Vegas and took the 13 mile scenic loop in the morning before it got too hot. The eight second clip you see in my first thumbnail is the sandstone right up close, that honeycomb texture and red streaks, you can almost feel the heat coming off it. The second and third photos show the Calico Hills in full sun, bright red against the grey mountains behind, classic Mojave …

Stunning vistas in a short up hill down hill 17 mile loop. At a glance some of the textured rock formations look smaller than they actually are. Plenty of trails, bring at least a gallon of water per person if hiking trails. Nice visitor center and plenty of parking at turnoffs for taking pictures or walking around. Easy drive around if you don’t want to get out.

Hiking at Red Rock Canyon was well worth it, the scenery was gorgeous! The trail diversity between the different destinations made for an awesome outdoor experience that was unexpected for Vegas. Highly recommend it but come prepared, it can get very windy depending on altitude.

I absolutely love this place. Great facilities beautiful area. Make sure your battery is charged on your phone or your camera. Because you're gonna want to take pictures. Wear good sturdy hiking shoes because you want to go to scramble around on the rocks. There are trails everywhere, and adventure behind every corner. And definitely take the loop, it's worth the money. And it supports the park. Ten stars out of five. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

If Las Vegas is the city that never sleeps, then Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is the place where Vegas goes, “Okay… maybe I should drink some water and touch a cactus for a while.” Just 17 miles from the Strip, Red Rock Canyon is absolutely stunning — giant red cliffs, that were used in the star trex movie, twisting desert roads, dramatic mountain views, and enough photo spots to make your phone storage beg for mercy. One minute you’re surrounded by casinos and slot machines, the next you’re cruising through a real-life western movie set wondering if a cowboy is about to …
